I've just heard a trailer on #BBCr4 for a programme that asks "What makes a great life?"

Do me a favour. Anyone who lives their life in love and service has a great life. That rules me out, but I can nominate very many people for the accolade, and hardly any of them are famous.

If we want true parity in the workforce, then the concept of childcare falling to the feet of women surely has to be completely overhauled. Much like the rest of the EU, childcare has to be shared equally between both parents.
Also, does forcing women into full-time minimum wage jobs really add to the economy, or can we place more financial value on a parent who chooses to stay at home for the first five years? Studies show #Childcare is not a better option for the child. #BBCr4 #Budget2023

The series provides an examination from many angles. Whatever opinion is on what she has done/participated in/whether she should be returned to face #BritishJustice, it provides an insight we should all understand to prevent it from happening again. She was #groomed as a child and effectively #trafficked by an agent working for Canadian intelligence. She, and her family, were ultimately let down by everyone involved.

Just heard a Labour spokesperson on #bbcr4 .
I was listening intently as it was supposed to be about Labours plans going forward. Chances are as part of a progressive alliance locally I will have to vote for Labour.

She refused to answer direct and pertenant questions instead choosing her 10 minutes to just go over how bad things are and who is to blame. We all hopefully know this already.

If she is the shape of what a Labour government are about you can only despair.

Someone wise once told me to "learn something about everything and everything about something". BBC's "In our time" is an ideal companion for the former. The episode about "1816 - The Year Without a Summer" was incredible. Give it a listen!

The work they are doing to help feed local families who are struggling with #food prices & #energy bills during this #christmas period is humbling. But it shouldn't be like this, should it?
