Good morning. Today's reading in the #DailyOffice reminds me that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Phil 4:13)

This saying can become trite, but it's truly evocative of Paul's experience, and our own: it is focusing on Him which helps us finish the fight, to motivate us to that good end.

@WordyAnchorite The liturgy should surely include time for confession, but I'm sorry to hear you're not receiving the salvation part of it. The regular liturgy progression goes from confession to absolution to communion. Those last two are literally the Good News: Jesus Christ died for our sins, we are freed from damnation, given the hope and gift of eternal life, and now we're called to live an exemplary life in service to Him.

If you're not feeling that, please talk with your pastoral crew. Sometimes a chat helps both ways.

If I could have joined the protest at #PooleHarbour today, I would have done (but I’m over 200 miles away). Great to see #XR (big thumbs up for #Wimborne group from my home town), #BCP councillors and residents turning out in force to hold oil company #Perenco to account for leaking 200 barrels of oil and who knows what else into a site of outstanding natural beauty and specific scientific interest.

I often use the #BCP for daily #prayer.

Maybe it's more notable to someone from outside the Anglican tradition, but I have been struck by and enjoying the subversiveness of praying for government leaders by their given names alone.

It feels different to pray for "Joe, our president" or "John, our chief justice". It reminds me that all human authorities are mere humans, fragile and needy before the great King.

Never use #ssis when #bcp will work. #sqlserver
