Today in 1944, Robert Clothier is presented with the Distinguished Flying Cross for attacking several highly-defended targets.
After the war he gets into acting. In 1972, he wins the role of Relic on The Beachcombers, which he plays until 1990.

Book share: BIRDIE by Tracey Lindberg brings the reader along the main character's journey to explore and connect with her complex past. The narrative style was new to me, and me feel somehow closer than I would expect to a fictional character.
By wild coincidence, earlier in the day I had listened to a Canadaland #podcast about the #cbc #beachcombers and how we can't watch it anywhere. Opening the book that night I had no idea the iconic show would play a role.
