The most frustrating part about beading in any form or style is trying to adapt your brain to the way its done and the patterns that go along with the type of beading.
Like for me, it's peyote, in any form. I can't read a damn peyote stitch pattern (in any style) to save my life and I wish that all patterns were in written form along with charts.
YouTube is all right for instruction but it sure doesn't help in reading the damn things!

The worst thing about beading is that you find the flimsiest excuse to go and order more beads. "Oh, I might run out of these beads, and I need more thread, do I have enough needles?"
Then you go down the rabbit hole.
Good thing I have a good credit card. I do have limits, too.

A writer friend is selling craft items, beading supplies, etc. on eBay to makes ends meet and while I am very intrigued by “Unicorn Spit,” I have no projects to use it on. Maybe you do? https://www.ebay.com/itm/126049435282?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=AP4jUlIJRx2&sssrc=2524149&ssuid=AP4jUlIJRx2&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I also forgot to post my latest beaded necklace: a Cleopatra Collar done in a Gothic vibe. Superduo beads, Tilas, and 6mm teardrop crystals.
Alas, I had to extend the length of this beautiful work with some heavy chain, but I feel this helps with the feel of the work.
If you're invested in buying this, it's $150 with free shipping within the US. Please let me know if you're interested!

Hey #beading guys, I got a question:
Is there a general rule of thumb for the beginning length of a beaded bezel? All of mine have been either too big or too small, and I *really* hate tinking back and modifying them. :blobcatmeltcry:
I went to a 'beading class / crafternoon' last week because I liked the idea of doing some beading. I only technically did some beading.
Someone brought a bunch of various letter beads. I've had the idea for a while that I need some kind of fun name tag, because it's easier than spelling my name when I introduce myself (especially over loud music). I decided to use the beads to solve this problem... somehow.
When the tool you're used to is pliers, everything gets solved with chain maille.
I've attached everything to a blanket pin, which looks great but unfortunately is only really usable on knitted fabrics.
Still, I love the juxtaposition of styles here. A convenient way to say more about me than just my name.
I'll keep searching for other name tag possibilities...

So, #PortfolioDay, huh? Why not.
So, I'm a gay knitter/crocheter and beader. I've done various things throughout the years. Also dabble in drawing and some graphic work. (I also write smut, but we're not here to show *that* off lol)

A tubular herringbone bezel: One side 8/0 seeds, the other 11/0 seeds. This format curls the rope inward, making it an easy way to latch the bezel, in this case an obsolete Italian Lira coin. After I connected the ends, I did some makeshift peyote beading on both sides with 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads, and there we go. The bail is tubular herringbone with some 11/0 seeds.

Some assistance needed: I'm trying to find big enough #resin molds so I can try making moxes - the MtG kind. Either that, or find big enough (marbled) #glass cabochons to bead around/wire wrap. Something to entrance and charm without overpowering. Any sources?

Obsessed with the ephemerality of these glass "bubble" beads and their potential to hold and envelope other beads/objects. What would you fill them with? #JewelryMaking #Beading

Doing a bit of a random bead/sequin/etc… cleanup after finally replacing my ancient recliner and finding many long-lost things 😊. Safety pins are proving to be good temporary storage until I find their proper tubes. #beading

A chair tiling or L-tiling is a non periodic tiling by L-shaped tiles built from 3 squares. This tiling is a self-similar reptile that uses a rotation for each level of the inflation. The chair tiles are not aperiodic tiles since they are not forced to tile nonperiodically by themselves. I stitched this version using seed beads and thread. There are black beads between the L-shapes that hold the patch together. #geometry #math #mathart #beading #tiling

There's another problem with looking at Pinterest when you're seeking inspiration and information-the very unnecessary selling/display of items you use to make jewelry with.
I can't see all those ads for hanks and multiple bottles of beads without panting heavily and lusting after them.
They're beautiful and lovely and I can't keep looking at them because if I do I'll max out my credit cards in no time at all and I'm really trying to get them all paid off...restraint! Don't look!

Everyone! I am -ahaha- proud to have my Pride bracelets up for grabs in the shop place. Limited numbers, with more to be made. Also, more pride flags forthcoming!
