#beanpot #lunch #chili This week we made chili and added that to the beans. Onions, ground beef, garlic, chili seasoning, assorted hot sauces and a bit of barbecue sauce added to beans cooked with bacon, yummy. Cornbread this time was just plain cornbread, light and moist and so very good.

#beanpot started my beans with a brief boil last night then let them soak, reheated the pot this morning and will start them to cook about ten when I will also start the #cornbread

Beans with onions, tomatoes, garlic and salsa, served over cornbread made with whole corn kernels mixed in. Cottage cheese, some of that coleslaw, dill pickles and ginger ale to drink. Feast!

The last and most intimate luxury is a home-cooked meal eaten with friends.

We made a pan of cornbread with a pouch of Marie Callendars' gluten-free version. We chose it because cornmeal is first on the ingredients list. It turned out great! Mildly sweet with a deep corn flavor but a bit more crumbly than conventional mixes. Went great with another helping of the beans,

Toated cheese sandwiches and beans for dinner. The meat from the leftover riblets really flavored the beans well. Definitely a win.

Lunch was mostly pulled pork off the remaining riblets with the bones going into the beanpot, along with salsa, chipotle, unsweetened cocoa, onions, garlic and pickle juice. And a can of black beans along with the pintos. :)

Spent some quality time watching the #Beanpot tournament. Guess it is the first time in the 50+ years of the tournament that Harvard will meet Northeastern in the finals. #Hockey went pretty well for me this morning. Gave up 2 stupid goals, but otherwise played solid and we won, 6-3. Everyone loved the pictures A took at hockey last Friday. She said she figured out how to get it to focus better and it showed.

Northeastern looking good so far.

Who will face the Crimson next Monday night?
