And just general life - were the type of people that if we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck. We've woke up in #BeastFromTheEast, had our top box come off on the motorway, had dead batteries many times, no heat in snow, etc so we were well prepared... but I never accounted in my Reality List that 2 of the dogs would have the runs.

Five years ago, headed to Scotland for a conference. Wondering if it was sensible to get on what ended up as the last flight into Edinburgh for three days. Luggage stayed in Dublin, along with winter coat, boots and warm sweaters. Learned how to look professional when the only stores open were a camping store and one selling fabulous vintage fashion and to always always ALWAYS take only a carryon.

This was the start of the #beastfromtheeast Shortly after this the buses stopped in #edinburgh and there was a mini lockdown due to the extreme weather. I had gone into the centre for a stair walk (up and down all the closes on the royal mile - fast!). One by one the tourists disappeared and we were left to admire the city in solitude…. and a three hour walk home 🥶 #throwbackthursday #photography

Thinking about heavy #snow nearing #christmas ❄️ I think the last really heavy #snowfall #norfolk had was #beastfromtheeast hopefully any flurries we do have won’t turn out to be anything like that! This was during Beastfromtheeast in 2018.
