Paul McCartney reminisces the years, throws in some he took back in the day. theguardian.com/music/2023/jun

Taking improptu pics wasn't that easy at the time, but thankfully Paul always had help at arm's length: ' Since we were surrounded by journalists, I often took pictures of them, not so much for revenge but because they were an interesting group of people. I would often say to them, “What’s the right lighting?”, because they were professionals and would automatically know. '

"The pictures the singer took of his friends and bandmates give a Beatle’s-eye view of the mania around the band in 1964. Seen here for the first time, these extraordinary behind-the-scenes moments capture four young men on the brink of immortality"

Think about the timeline.

Feb 11, 1963 they recorded their first album (IN ONE DAY!)

Feb 9, 1964 they appeared on American TV for the first time

In less than a year, they conquered the UK, then Europe, then Notth America, and then the World.

in 1964: “Meet The Beatles!” is released in the USA.

The album that would truly launch Beatlemania in the US came out while the were on tour in Paris, just 3 days after they were told that “I Want To Hold Your Hand” had reached Number 1 in America.

Three weeks later, they landed at JFK and made TV history on the Ed Sullivan Show.

I was dreaming that I was in my front yard with three of The Beatles.

I was mostly chatting with Paul but John and George were there too.

The dream was rather complex and jumbled, Paul was on a horse at one point, I was holding back a Doberman/ Great dane who could've got out because the gate was open.

It ended on this beautiful scene, I suppose it was for a video which was never made.

It was either John or George with that frizzy hair they had for a while.

The song was about the People and the every day goings on, small things.

As the song progressed, the camera drew back and upwards, it focussed on a park in a small English town, which we'd see was encircled by a quiet Country road.

With the camera now all the way back, we see the town is a diorama, made up of the same scenery you'd see for model trains, and the Singer's head was the centre of the park, in essence an old oak tree.

Their head wasn't made to look like a tree, it just made sense that that's what it was.

The last scene was the camera sitting behind the singer's head, looking over their left shoulder.

The camera maintained a view keeping the diorama level with the real horizon, a just after sunset view of swirled deep orange and black clouds over an ocean.

The view gave the impression that the singer was sitting on a park bench on a cliff, looking over the ocean, but we weren't shown that.

It was beautiful.

Clever to show them playing cards hanging out in hotel rooms while the world capitals pass them by in the windows behind them. The monotony for them during Beatlemania.

“Follow the band on tour, as they face an ever-changing backdrop of cities, hotels, roads, and gigs, with only each other to rely on. A magical dancer appears to each of them, representing inspiration and creative freedom.” - Rok Predin, Trunk Animation.

On this date, Dec. 3, in 1965, The Beatles released a double single - "We Can Work It Out" & "Day Tripper." What a day.
