Who's ready for a house-building update?
We've been working with a second builder to get some progress made. He rang us a couple of days ago and said we really should go check out the site. Uh oh. We've been to see it now. The air-con equipment is gone. Our shonky builder hasn't paid the dude for installing it. So he's taken the equipment. Problem is, that wasn't the builder's asset for the installer to hold in lieu of payment. It's ours. We bought, paid and supplied it outside of contract. So the installer has stolen our property.
In all honesty I wasn't expecting to have to report tradies for theft during this build. But here we are. I doubt they can do much unless they find the unit with same serial number at the installer's place.
