Went to see #FunHome in the #GateTheatreDublin last night. Great performances and very much worth seeing (albeit very intense in places as you'll know if you've encountered the source material before). I think there are only a few days left in the run, so book now if you're booking!

Look I'm really just looking for an excuse for #HelenHunt and #LauraDern to be in another movie together.

We could even call it The #Bechdel Test and it could be a not-very subtle allegory on how #women run *everything* better. Lets see, have #Lizzo, #SandraOh, #DollyParton, #ShohrehAghdashloo, and they're all top scientists and legislators and they get to work solving the world's problems and all the d00dz are either doddering insane comedic relief or eye candy like that Tatum feller.

For the longest time I thought Alison Bechdel's creation and central figure was Mo but she's more complex than that. This passage from the Secret to Superhuman Strength is a paraphrasing of Sidney's (the academic GF with rich dad) proposal to Mo.

I realized today that Sir Mix-a-lots' classic Baby Got Back passes the #Bechdel test. And I'm not sure if I'm down with that...

TIL that Starship Troopers pass #Bechdel test with full marks. And it's full of gender equality (not only) among soldiers.
And also racial equality (if you forget that main cast is whitewashed AF).

Musste gerade sehr lachen. Jemand, den ich kenne/ganz gut kannte, Romanautor, hat wohl das Drehbuch für eine #Webserie geschrieben. Anscheinend gesponsert von ner Kälte-Technik-Firma. Die erste Szene fängt an mit 2 #wissenschaftlerinnen im Labor an, die x-tausend-Jahre altes Eis untersuchen. Soweit so ok. Und dann: Unterhalten sie sich nach rund 1 Minute über nen Typen – das Date der anderen. Geht dann nur noch um ihn. 1 Minute und schon den #Bechdel-Test mit Bravour gerissen. Wow, haha.

I just finished #AlteredCarbon, a #Scifi, #Noir, #CrimeThriller by Richard K. Morgan. It was interesting. I liked the commentary about myths, unkillable gods of wealth that speciate from the human race. I liked the speculation on sleeves and stacks. I was lead to believe that the book was anarchist and antiauthoritarian, but its gender politics didn't lead me to that conclusion. If it passed the #Bechdel test, it didn't do it often. It was a fun, if vaguely problematic and pro-cop, pulpy romp.

Les raisons qui font que j'apprécie #AngelaAnaconda :

-On a une héroïne indépendante, d'une joie de vivre et d'une imagination à nulle autre pareille.

-Passe le #Bechdel haut la main !

-La direction artistique est unique, aucun autre cartoon ne lui ressemble

-S'en sort plutôt bien niveau #Représentation et diversité des personnages

-Des situations absurdes... Et donc souvent très drôle

-La VF est en fait la version Franco-Québécoise (Et très bien) :blobthinkingeyes:
