We inspected #beehives today. We have concluded we just don't know enough. The #bees in the original hive were practically lethargic and haven't gotten anything done (i.e. no new frames drawn out) despite having been fed a couple of weeks ago. #beekeeping /1

I think it's cute how I'm fertilizing my #pumpkins so they make lots of #flowers and the #bees are carrying their nectar back to my neighbor's #beehives. Maybe one day the energy I poured into my planters will wind up in my neighbor's tea! #gardening

When the weather is fine we attend an outdoor #milonga (#tango social dance) at the home of our #tangoteacher. Dancing en plein air is a very healthy way to exercise, but not for #hayfever sufferers obviously. 😜
And, definitely not if you are allergic to #bee stings as there are 6 #beehives in this garden space.

They started settling down & we pulled the old, original baseboard over the top of the new hive for a lid.

Now we need to go shopping AGAIN for more deep supers/hive boxes and get another lid. 🙄 Hopefully they will stay put now!

I got to check out my company’s bee hives with a bunch of co-workers yesterday - very interesting! There was also an annoyed seagull whose nest (and chick) were nearby. #beehives

Oooh, I missed the post-apocalyptic #beehives in Blade Runner 2049.

A #Tigh nAlluis is an early #Irish sweat-house. They look like little stone #beehives with a low doorway, and can still be seen dotted around the landscape today, although their true purpose is one of debate. A fire would be lit inside, in which stones were heated. The ashes would be scraped out, and water sprinkled onto the stones to produce a heavy vapour.

Woo hoo! The #beehives we had which were spicy appear to have swarmed, and the new queens that terraced the old queens are chill... not nasty. I suspect the nasty swarm I snagged was the mean queen we had. #blessing
