#TrraderJoes has some crazy cheap (7.49/12 pack in OKC) beer and it is surprisingly good.

Very malty, slightly sweet, toasty/nutty

Full mouth feel.

Oddly enough, this reminds of a maltier version of Fat Tire.

Spent the last 24 hours revamping the achievement system on #BeerAdvocate.

I'm just using our forum's system, so it's not as fancy as #Untappd badges, but I extended the code to use custom criteria/data. Big improvement over our ancient #beer karma system, and overall a better way to acknowledge contributions from our members.

This also sets us up for even more improvements when our big #forum upgrade is finally complete.

In the before times, #BeerAdvocate was hosting multiple #beer fests and numerous #social gatherings that brought tens of thousands of beer geeks from around the world together each year.

Then the #pandemic hit and shutdown live events.

This morning I'm reminded that our last in-person fest was three years ago today; Extreme Beer Fest in #Boston, Mass.

I don't know if we'll ever host beer fests again, but I sure do miss them, everything they represented, and the people who attended them.

Black Daruma is an 11% Russian Imperial Stout w/ Persimmon from Japas Cervejaria in #Brazil; founded by three Nipo-Brazilian women; Maíra Kimura, Yumi Shimada and Fernanda Ueno. They have an awesome origin story and make so damn good and highly creative beers.

Can't wait to get my box of BIG STOUTS and try this one!

Poured from a can into a Stella glass.

Crisp and clean, this one is tasty. Nice aroma, with some citrus and maybe lemongrass. Dry yet malty.

Very appropriate per style. This one is worth seeking out.
