One of our Hungarian Christmas traditions is making poppy seed loaf, or beigli, as it called in Hungarian. For the past 20-odd years that has involved me grinding about a kilo of poppy-seed with a special grinder made in Czechoslovakia in the communist days. Normally, I needed to grind it twice to get the right level of fineness. This year we bought a attachment to our kitchen-aid to do the grinding. What a difference. It powered through the poppy-seed. Much faster!
