Now what to liste' to for for my bedtime story ? I have The Eye of the World & all The #Belgariad. I'll try The Eye of the World again, but maybe it's better read with one's own eyes.

For this week's #MappyMondays here's a hand-drawn map that I created when I was maybe 15 or 16 depicting the world of the #Belgariad and #Malloreon epic fantasy series created by David and Leigh Eddings. This series was my first ever foray into the #fantasy literature genre and I recommend it for anyone who thinks LotR is a bit too "heavy".

P.S. I was interested in #maps ever since I was a kid so it's absolutely not a surprise that I eventually got involved in OpenStreetMap.

Problem authors - my favorite book series is the #Belgariad by #Eddings, but I have to separate the author from the work. Likewise, I really enjoyed #DresdenFiles by #JimButcher, but I had to stop buying his books (explained in one of my past posts).

I'm too young to know everything, and too old to adjust quickly. Let me know about my mistakes, and I will try to do better.

I know I made him but he just looks so good

When suddenly having to make up an #NPC on the fly, I’m thankful for all those fantasy books I read in the 1980s. The best part about it is that the players I have in my games are often unfamiliar with books like #Thievesworld or the #Belgariad

Even if I don’t lift a character whole cloth from those books I can always draw on them for a name or a general idea. I’m still waiting for a reason to throw in a thief/assassin named Silk…but I think that’s a little too obvious.
