The last time I did something similar was about 35 years ago. It was Orwo NP21. 135-36 was scarce commodity, only bulk rolls were sometimes available in shops. Today it is part of the game #FilmIsnotDead

356 followers · 3707 posts · Server mastodon.scotThe SP-645 tank arrived a while back just after I developed my holiday sheets, but today I was sufficiently motivated to clear some backlog of undeveloped negatives (mostly secondaries), and the tank is superb, I’d say even better than the SP-445, it seals better, no leaking at all.

Possibly my favorite photo from my first roll of Ektachrome, the photo arrived where I was sitting at the beach. I look up and this man had just put his surfboard directly in front of me, and I just had to take the photo. I didn’t get his name sadly, but he told me he painted the fin himself and I felt it deserved a photo.

Flic Film’s ECN-2 kit seems to be the best one I’ve used so far. Previously, I bought random powders from strangers online and the results were varied :)
The prebath is really good and better than the washing soda / borax solution I previously used. I also don’t want to muck around with lye, which was the only ingredient I didn’t have from Kodak’s original recipe.

I hung it in the shower to dry. I cleaned it off with Pec-12 and PecPads. I cleaned the holders and the scan bed as well. And still I’m getting massive dust. It’s driving me nuts. It seems to be worse with color film.

In August 2023, I’ve shot around 6000 frames of 35mm and 120 film; of which I’ve developed maybe half of those myself.
I roll my own film, and know how to develop black and white, C-41, and ECN-2. I’ve learned to print in a darkroom, and use every type of scanner.
I’m happy with what I’ve learned.
