Song challenge day 29:

A song from your childhood...

Well, I was a GDR kid right up until school which means we sung "Pionierlieder" in kindergarten.

Now, let's not get bogged down into the discussion if that kind of early indoctrination to a topic is a good thing.

But one of my earliest childhood memories is being taught the background behind this sweet-sad antifascist song.

Now, there are millions of variations of "Bella Ciao" and I won't provide a youtube-link today because the song is misused often enough that one doesn't know if a version you post is clear off said misuse.

However, it might be interesting that the kind of sadness in those lyrics is the very thing I look for in art ever since.
