I decided to try a heat gun on some of my miss print models. To see what it would do with the later lines. The gloss side is where I applied the heat gun. Tbh in some cases I can see it improving the look of the print but not always. #3dprinting #3dprint #benchy #benchy3d

I got my first #creality K1 last week, but it was defective. The company sent me a new unit today and it prints fantastic. Here is a 16 minutes #Benchy

Man, just scared the crap out of myself with this #ender3 #3dprinter. I just loaded it up to print a #benchy with PETG, whent he print started I saw absolutely not filament coming out.

I AM AN IDIOT!!!

Filament is the "Natural" PETG from Microcenter. AKA it is glass clear 😂 It looked like the nozzle dragged and made the area where it laid down filament shiny. HAHAHA!

Although my switch from #Marlin to #Klipper wasn't an easy decision, the main thing that was holding me back was the loss of my display on my printer. But I finally made the switch yesterday.

I currently don't have the correct accelerometer, so I manually did all of the calibration.

I am blown away!

Although my #Benchy can do with some improvement and I can't get it under 40 min, my other larger prints have been reduced by 3 or 4 hours. Which just goes to show how important geometry and size are in #3dprinting.

The quality is so much better, and my first layers are perfect.

The #Klipper docs were excellent, and I basically just read them top to bottom and followed them to the t, and everything worked!

I doubled the slicing resolution and halved the minimum maximum path length to prove a point. That printers can be overwhelmed at normal speeds of 60 mm/s with excessive G1 movements.

Default settings in #PrusaSlicer can do this to a #benchy with some cheaper 8-bit boards or over slower serial connections using something like #Octoprint

Not only does #Klipper have its own methods of being faster, but #Mainsail and #Fluidd have less oerhead than #Octoprint. So, just the serial communication can be more efficient due to this.

I am busy with my own personal investigation into #Octoprint to see how I can speed it up because I need it and don't have the time to rewrite my entiee enclosure to work without my plugins. So Mainsail isn't an option.

I actually installed #Klipper and #Octoklipper literally like 6 hours ago. I am still busy with mt config because I had some unrelated issues.

Now, if you think I am lying or exaggerating this, look at these results.

This is a #Benchy printer without any arc-movements G3 commands.

You'll see a bunch of deoplets and bulges on the front of the boat. This is due to 100s of G1 linear movements, the printer not being able to keep up with the communication, receiving another co..and before it is even done, and freezing.

The printer then stops and waits and filament oozes out of the nozzle. Thus, slowing down your print and degrading your printing quality.

So here is an example of Linear movements, or movements created by the G1 #Gcode command.

This is a segment of a standard #Benchy model. As you can see, all of the lines are straight. With every tick, a straight line is drawn. Short ones for small detail and longer ones for longer surfaces.

In this entire video there are only about 10 commands, 10 commands the printer needs to receive and print.

Samozřejmě, bez té textury je to horší a tisk na 0.2mm vrstvu tomu taky moc nepřidal - ale mám ještě jednoho na 0.15, a ten už vypadá velmi slušně. (Srovnatelná kvalita jako z originálního modelu)
Něco jiného jsou pak profesionální kalibrované 3D scannery. Ale i s nimi to není 100%. (Moc hezky zachyceno na loňském #MakerFaire, kde měli 100x vytištěnou #Benchy, pokaždé ze skenu té předchozí).

With the new #3DPrinter cart built I am motivated to give my printers some long overdue tuneups. Started with my #MonopriceVoxel and other than a filament motor gear that needs replacing still it’s like new. This may be the best #Benchy I’ve ever gotten out of it.

Honestly with my MK3S+ I printed a #benchy and that was it. It came out great and I didn't worry about any real test prints, the thing just works!

3D printers are configured and working in their new home.
