Check out this #Freesia. Have only spotted a couple and managed to stop to snap this one during my working day.
They are native to the eastern side of southern Africa, from Kenya south to South Africa.
They have fragrant funnel-shaped flowers, and these were sweet with a perfumed aroma.
They come in many colours of the rainbow, including a variety of shades (mixes).

I just love this mural. I’ve posted some time ago, but can’t get enough of it
Found it again in my travels recently.
The #rosella is astonishingly good. So too the #wombat to the right of scene in the second pic.
Painted by HaydenDewar.com in 2019, this scene complements another painted on brick, just off Acland Street in StKilda. It has the same humanoid figures and #Australiana themes.
I’ll visit that and feature it here, sometime in the not too distant future.
This mural (pictured in this post) however, is located in #Bentleigh #Australia.

I believe this is a type of #Hawthorn.
It’s fruit looks delightful.
Bright and vibrant, the fruit even shines in the late afternoon sunlight . It must attract the birds big time.
I think It was this same kind of larger fruiting tree, that was being stripped a few weeks back at sunset, in a leafy #melbourne suburb (near #Kew), by at least 150+ #longbilledcorella.
It was like a scene out of that movie ‘The Birds’… a real mess of leaves, fruit and branches strewn over the road and footpath.
They were screeching and chortling, a real dynamic and noisy scene to behold.
Never quite observed anything like that in suburbia.
This gorgeous Washington Hawthorn (I believe it is) was snapped in #Bentleigh #Australia.

There’s a similar mural set in #bentleigh (same artist for sure, not signed), but these in #stkilda #australia, just off Acland Street are something else.

I love a bit of local history, and I’m just reading about the 1947 Bentleigh burger murder, from details just realised by PROV. Turns out 309 Centre Road is still a restaurant.

The peeps in this scene can be described perhaps as #gumnut characters. Not sure, but I reckon their heads resemble the fruit from a eucalypt tree.
The one in blue, riding the rosella looks like it’s having fun!
The entire face of this art piece stretches about 20 metres (65 foot) and is located in downtown #Bentleigh #melbourne #victoria

A favourite of the plant world - the ‘Bird of Paradise’.
Was pleasantly surprised to see this just last week, still flowering and healthy looking… nice oranges and red, pink, purple tones that contrast and yet complement this gorgeous plant so well.
So visually stimulating for the aesthetically inclined 😋 🙂
Others I have seen are beyond their prime and are on their way out. This however, was probably a late bloomer… it waited to be photographed and shared with you.
