Isn’t this bloom just delicious?
Well, hopefully they signal delish fruit to come… as my ID app tells me this is #peach (Prunus persica).
It is a deciduous tree, apparently first domesticated in Zhejiang province of Eastern China.
It will (hopefully!) produce edible juicy peaches (the glossy-skinned, non-fuzzy varieties)… the birds are going to have a ball with this one, when the time comes!

What a delightful #azalea!
I love it’s two toned colours of white and pink.
#Azaleas normally bloom in the spring (October and November in the Southern Hemisphere) and their flowers often lasting several weeks. I have a seen a few come out, way earlier this year.
Blooming time is April and May in the Northern Hemisphere.
They’re shade tolerant and prefer living near or under trees. They are part of the family Ericaceae.
Delicate, yet quite a robust, sturdy flower.

#CamelliaSasanqua, with the common name sasanqua #camellia, it is a species native to China and Japan.
It is usually found growing in high altitudes, but does very well in #melbourne conditions indeed.
As a kid I recall the couple of camellias that grew prominently in our family garden and flowered prolifically this time of year, as tended to, so lovingly by my mum.
The bright yellow anther and filaments on these ones are particularly beautiful.
So too, the striking pinks of their flowering petals.
Nature at its best.

Epidendrum ibaguense (apparently pronounced ee-bah-GAIN-say) is a species of #orchid of the genus Epidendrum.
It’s prevalent in Trinidad, French Guiana, Venezuela, Colombia and Northern Brazil.
These were growing quite successfully in a derelict house frontage in #bentleigheast #Australia
Beauty often appears in the most unlikely places.

#Amaryllisbelladonna, the Jersey lily, belladonna-lily, naked-lady-lily or March lily is a plant native to South Africa but often cultivated as an ornamental. You can clearly see why!
This fella is coming to the end of its flowering cycle and whilst appearing colourful and sturdy in the main, it’s accompanying flowers are ready to shrivel, dry and drop in the next week or two I’d suggest.
I have seen quite a few of these beauties around Melbs over the past few weeks and whilst their flowering ‘moment’ is brief, they’re glorious all the same.

What a glorious #PortlandRose bush, growing in the inner side of this residential fence.
I love how the petals turn on themselves in curls, and the vibrant pink surface that attracted me to take a good look.
Had a smell too, up close… they were aromatic with a fresh ‘rose’ smell - that characteristic aroma that brings back flooding memories of childhood and times past.
What a treat of the senses.

How dainty and lush are these?
These gorgeous flowers gave me a sense of calm and serenity.
They’re #Plumbago, also known as the #commonleadwort and is a plant species in the genus Plumbago found in the Mediterranean and Central Asia.

Corymbia ficifolia, also commonly known as the #redfloweringgum, is a tree that is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia.
It has rough bark on the trunk and on its branches, robust, bright green thick leaves, flower buds in groups of seven; bright red, pink or orange flowers and its fruit is like the shape of cups. That’s the best description I can give.
This one in #BentleighEast #Australia has the most lovely deep-pink flowers. Although the colour is subtle viewing the tree from afar, up close the colour is really quite striking.
Love the fine hair appearance of these flowers too! The bees seem quite partial to them as well. 🐝🐝🐝
I read just now with interest that these are one of the most commonly planted ornamental eucalypts in Australia.

#Gleditsiatriacanthos aka 'Sunburst' are still going strong here in Melbs.
These are two trees; one in #GlenIris, the other in #BentleighEast #Australia.
These usually have an abundant canopy.
Young foliage starts off a bright yellow colour and ripens to lime green. The two tone looks terrific in the morning sun!
