Looking around a little bit to see if I can find a replacement for shared shopping lists in Google Keep.

Anyone in the #Emacs #orgmode community ever try to share org files over WebDAV between #Orgzly and #Beorg? I'm already serving SVN-revisioned org files via WebDAV with Orgzly, which works pretty well for me, but I have family members on iOS.

Trying to improve #productivity for a more commute heavy lifestyle.

Long time #OrgMode (#Emacs) user, it suits me fine, but I am interested in #BeOrg.

Trouble is they do not support OneDrive syncing. (DropBox, WebDav, & iCloud only). Trying to be a good corporate citizen where possible...

More annoying is that there is no decent (AFAICT) integration between #Outlook and #Emacs. (nor with EDS or #thunderbird

Are there any tips people have for OrgMode + OneDrive + BeOrg integration...

#ios love Password Store (Pass) for iOS. Especially its seamless integration with #git (swipe down to sync). Wish #beorg had built-in support for git as well (otherwise it's possible via Working Copy, with a paid subscription).

If I have a meeting on iOS calendar, can beorg make it into an event in my org file and vice versa?

Pressure 😬 … not sure why I’m surprised but when “literating” my #emacs config as an org document, todo items will be visible everywhere, even in #beorg …

@ryn I prefer #beorg on iOS because it’s native. It’s not meant for text editing proper but on the other hand I rarely want to do that on my iPhone or iPad in any case. It can access my home server over WebDAV (supplied by NextCloud).

Love this update from @tailscale - finally i can ensure the tailnet is up before syncing my #beorg org file folder against webdav on my synology NAS.

I've created a #beorg saved search and template to track online purchases. The template adds new purchases to purchases.org using a year/month hierarchy and an IN-PROGRESS state. The saved search then shows all the purchases I'm waiting on, and I can set them to DONE once received. I can check the file directly to check I've not been buying things unnecessarily.

Did you know you can attach a location to a task/item in #beorg?

1. Tap the 'more' button at the bottom of the item editor
2. Choose 'Assign current location'

To view a map showing the location tap the property editor button, and then the arrow next to the location longitude/latitude.

On the desktop in #Emacs the location will be available in #OrgMode in the item property drawer.

Add actions to the 'more' button menu in your Scheme init.org for other properties you frequently use.

Just tagging on to say that #beorg is a fucking /great/ app for mobile management of your org mode stuff. I love it. I moved away from iOS, mostly, and the only things I miss are:
- iMessage
- Beorg

Hello 👋 - this is a brief #introduction to Apps On The Move on Mastodon! I've been on Mastodon for a short while at @mken - time now to move over my indie apps.

The main indie app I'm focused on is #beorg, a task manager that works with plain text files. You can store and sync the files from iCloud, Dropbox or WebDAV - and they use an Org mode compatible syntax for use with Emacs.

I've got a few other apps as well - #GoCalc was first released in 2008, back when the #AppStore was new.

I've been adding the ability in #beorg to select saved searches in the agenda screen quickly. I'm going to use this a lot personally - combined with being able to filter on certain types of items (e.g. calendar entries)

I was asked by a #beorg user this morning how to create a linkify editor toolbar button.

The key was knowing how to do string concatenation in Scheme - string-append. In beorg (region-text-set (string-append "[[" (region) "]]")) will surround the currently selected text with [[ ]].

Giving #Emacs #OrgMode another go today, with #beorg on mobile, syncing via #NextCloud. I’ve always struggled to get a good workflow going when it comes to managing my time. So I’m just trying out a simple journalling system to get the feel of things without committing to too much.
