Darwin's barberry, #Berberis darwinii, is native to Argentina and Chile. A vigorous grower -- with thorns! -- once established, but it seems to put up with major pruning. And these bright orange flowers are quite exquisite.

Time in the garden, drawn by the mahonia aquifolium (or is it a berberis? there seems to be some confusion between the two) which forms part of the roadside hedge - totally covered in typical spring time yellow.
A few minutes there, seems a good way of transitioning from the silence of the #QuakerMeeting, back into the world.
