I’ve always wondered about the Liao (Khitan) and the Jin dynasties which literally controlled the “Chinese heartlands” and bullied the Song Dynasty because they were more powerful, but somehow got excluded from the “proper” Chinese dynasties list because they weren’t ruled by ethnic Han ppl.
