Finally saw Lukas Dhont's Close in the cinema tonight. Thought it was brilliant until the last four scenes but it didn't stick the landing. The young lead actor was amazing though. #film #oscars #bestinternationalfilm

A quiet, dreamy girl of 8 or 9 is sent from her chaotic, struggling household to live with her mother's childless relatives, and blossoms under their kind care. Beautifully shot, and the young actress Catherine Clinch is remarkable. Worth seeing. Playing at the #Angelika, NYC.
