For every book sold on Better World Books, they donate a book to someone in need. They have donated tens of millions of books so far.

I can often buy the books for under $5 (they [often/always?] offer discounts for 5+ books) with free shipping. They have a very large selection of #books

@ajroach42 I second #betterworldbooks because of their mission. They donate a lot to literacy programs around the world. They tend to be slightly more expensive than thriftbooks though. AbeBooks is owned and run by Amazon, so I would avoid them if possible.
