the answers are simple: yes, of course they deserve the right to strike. if you don't believe so, shake hands with your boss and look wise.
the strike will go on as long as it takes to get better hours, wages, and working conditions. the more you *support* the strike, the sooner it will be over. if it's inconveniencing people, that's the entire point!

without these workers, none of this work gets done!

reminder that wildcat strikes were the weapon of choice for unionised workers before institutions such as the NLRB (USA) or the Ministry of Labour (canada) were established, outlawed wildcat strikes, and began enforcing false "labour peace".

this was favourable to hierarchic business unions, whose actions have included crossing each others' and their own picket lines, making compromises with the boss, and collecting expensive dues but never using them for what they were intended, including financial endorsement of politicians instead of doing anything to improve material conditions for workers. they are a large part of why union membership declined for so many years. most unions today are this type of union, and this is one of the biggest problems with unions today.

the wildcat strike gives us the element of surprise. a requirement to declare any strike at least 72 hours in advance takes that element away, and gives the boss time to gather resources.

you do not have to be a member of a union to organise a wildcat strike. but it may lead to the formation of a union, for workers, by workers, in your workplace! :blackbloc:
