#ThisNightIllWatchYour Blu-ray release of BEVERLY HILLS COP (Martin Brest, 1984). #EddieMurphy is on fire here, but the rest of the cast are damn good too. I miss Hollywood movies like this. Grounded plots, w/sharp dialogue + targeted at an adult audience.
When I was a #WorkingClass kid growing up during the 80s, Murphy's streetwise persona - just on the acceptable side of insolent - in made him something of a hero to myself + my peers. I truly miss that era of Hollywood stars.

#BeverlyHillsCop is still fun 39 years after it was released. Watched it last night with my teenage son on Apple TV. This Martin Brest picture zips along and is chockful of laughs. Four years later Brest went on to helm arguably the funniest film of all, #MidnightRun. How do you like you comedy? Straight up? Or peppered through an action picture?
