Moin! 66 km 🚴♀️ and several hours in drizzling rain wasn't that much fun, especially, since I found only 15 #bewick's #swan and 11 #whooper.
Last year this time I had 77 bewicks on my patch.

Day started not that bad, but very difficult conditions in the afternoon.

since 14-Dec 2022 we had increasing number of wintering #bewick's and #whooper swans feeding near the roost (nature reserve) on rapeseed (farmland, about 3 km away).
1-Jan 2023: c57 bewick's, c110 whoppers.
7-Jan 2023: ... all gone, chased away by farmer :(
Found some few on another field nearby today.
Bewick's swans are in decline and according to IUCN criteria globally vulnerable species.

Heute startete die #Zwergschwan Winterzählung. Bin hier zwar nicht im Hauptrastgebiet, aber immerhin: 23 Zwergschwäne, darunter 5 diesjährige am Schlafplatz.
Ein ziemlich kalter, langer und wunderschöner Tag mit dem #Fahrrad in der Natur unterwegs.
