A year ago today, I posted the poem I Am Me. It was the first time I was able to put into words how it felt being lumped in with cishet males. My then friend now girlfriend saw it that morning and immediately asked me if she could turn it into a song. I was thrilled.

It's one of my favorite poems and songs, and still speaks strongly to me. I'm not what someone else wants, I am me.
