@Lapizistik @sci_photos Klar, auch #BibTeX hilft hier - aber IMHO im Idealfall zusätzlich zu einem Literaturverwaltungsprogramm. Den Punkt "Selber den Überblick über das bewahren, was man gelesen hat" nimmt einem BibTeX nicht ab.

#GoogleScholar's can be wildly wrong, #WebOfScience is weird, slow and #paywall'ed, doesn't really have books and often makes ALL CAPS entries (wtf). Best ist to grab the citation directly from the publisher. But every website does it differently and some only have RIS or something and you need to convert it with #pandoc 🙄

A plugin to simplify this would be very helpful.

Friendly reminder (or in case you are not aware), I maintain a massive #BibTeX/#BibLaTeX file with #rendering-related references. It includes all the work I've ever cited in my own papers, all recent #SIGGRAPH, #EG, and #EGSR papers, and more (some 4000 and counting). I add to it regularly.

If you use #Overleaf, there is also an easy way to add it to your projects and keep it updated (explained in the GitHub repo readme). It is one of the first files I add to any new #LaTeX project.

Apparently the #Evince PDF reader is one of the programs that doesn't understand symlinks. That's a pity, as I use :gitannex: #gitAnnex to sync my #TexLaTeX #BibTeX bibliography which I manage with #KBibTeX. So either I live with this, `git annex unlock` all my files or try to fix Evince myself 😅

Heh, I really like the principle of using nix-shell as a shebang. This script just launches #KBibTeX (the #TexLaTeX #BibTeX bibliography editor). Helpful in a synced :gitannex: #gitAnnex repo with multiple participants across different OSs.

Ieri ho scritto, per la prima volta, un paper interamente in markdown lavorando su #Obsidian, gestendo tutti i riferimenti bibliografici con #bibtex+#zotero, e organizzando tutto il lavoro di ricerca con tag e wikilinks. Ho fatto il lavoro di un mese in 6 giorni. Obsidian poi è un software stratosferico, mi spiace solo che sia closed-source, al momento purtroppo le alternative FOSS non sono all'altezza di competere.

While helping a colleague in trying to get #LaTeX into #dhconvalidator for #dh2023 I wonder if nobody has already built something better than LaTeX to #odt via #pandoc + #bibTeX to text via #zotero (or any other reference manager) and lots of manual interventions? Maybe done this but not sharing? Or not worth to share?

Having a whale-of-a-time learning #Emacs, Org-mode, #BibTeX, #LaTeX to typeset a history book. Old dog, new TriX. It's the journey that counts.
