Do #bigCities cluster at distinct population sizes when growing? Maybe some natural thresholds due to how humans interact, live, the preferences they have, etc. In #Germany, I feel many cities stall at 350k and 550k residents. Few go over this. Anyone got insight, studies or ideas on this front? #askfedi #research

There are a whole host of issues.
Capitalism and socialism are just ways of allocating resources and both have issues though we have gone so far towards #corporateTotalitarianism that the latter is almost impossible.
Air quality issues that can arguably be somewhat mitigated by #renewables, but the energy needs to come from outside as the ratio of #energyUse to available energy is off-balance in #bigCities.

For decades the #culturalElite have been able to #indoctinate (as children), into believing there's something great, even #futuristic about living in towers.
Is the curtain lifted?
