Ernest recordedf as Edward Welsh, father Alfred - a letter carrier, marrying Mary Craig, father Charles Walsh. This all ties in nicely with what I had previously.

Until now.
First marriage was easy enough to find as he uses his real name. The second one proved tricky. From the 1939 National Identity Register I knew her birth and name, but not her Maiden name (obviously), but I was pretty sure of that from other sources.

I think this is the first time I've seen "burdensome homelife" as the grounds for a divorce. As it turns out, the husband was also still married. I don't know if the *third* wife knew he was still married to his *first* wife.
