Compromises in #opensim

I have 3 trains running on #BigCityLife

One is a 140 meters long Santa Fee train. 6 long carriages that need special track made so that it looks normal to drive in curves. No problem so far. Looks fine as much it is possible with Lego when you put the root prim exactly in the middle of the carriage and put the track Legos a bit outside to the rails. Is not perfect but if you can't have to axis for the long carriages it is almost possible to let to feel like the train has two axis.

To let 6 carriages align so that they drive synchronized is working also for one circle around the 7x7 sim. You can let the train drive perhaps 2 rounds so that it looks ok if the speed is not high. The time delay for scripts over 49 sims is acceptable but you can't let the train run more than 2 rounds. Then it will break and one carriage will drive somewhere and not with the whole train.

But the biggest problem is to use sensors for opening doors and for stops at railway stations. A sensor script that shouts can only reach 96 meters. Not more. For my train not enough because it is 140 meters long. And when you let the sensor scream over whole sim which is in this case a 7x7 sim, then the time delay is enormously and the sensors speaks over the whole 49 1x1 sims and will reach the last carriage time delayed.

So it is not possible to let the train run on a 7x7 sim with all sensors for stops at railwaystations and sensors for opening doors when arriving at railwaystation and closing doors before driving again.

Such a train needs much smaller sim but then it would not make sense. It is longer than half of a 1x1 sim. 140 meter train on a 256 meter long sim lol Even on a 3x3 sim it would not look good.

It is a joke that you can only use 3000 kbps for uploading in Firestorm. Firestorm still thinks we live in a computer age where we use Modems and have no DSL? smile

Of now this was a joke. 3000 kbps is old DSL and not modem.

This won't change much on my 7x7 sim with building up all things

In the end I think I will let run 5 yellow cabs. And all of them will also drive on Park Avenue

The Yellow Cabs are just for traffic. Perhaps one from the airport you can use in real. Don't know. Right now I just want to have much more traffic on streets. It should be a big city. Then traffic has to be big. Right?

Tribute to Within Temptation

Open Air concert in Central Park

The central park is gigantic. on the 7x7 sim of #bigcitylife it is just a part, but others would make a 3x3 sim out of it alone. And there is so much stuff in the central park. Even the concert of Succubus and you can ride horses or float with boat on the lake. Or drive with scooter or skating. Or just take a beer at the beer garden lol Or just enjoy the pure nature in the middle of the big city. Like in New York.

Framed by skyscrapers and not wallpaper. Some of the buildings are really in use and are not just Lego dummies. On Park Avenue you can go to the fashion show. There is also a Police department and of course the Park Avenue Plaza with street musicians. In time the building at the Plaza will become Musical hall like on Broadway. I don't have a Broadway but the Park Avenue will do too. Better than to have the Black Rock building at the Park Avenue Plaza lol

If you like New York City you will like it here too. It is just fantasy NYC but some things are similar.

Building now with Lego and mesh parts from other house the broadway theatre. Of course, I don't have a broadway, but Park Avenue will do too.

In upper floor like in the movies we will have our penthouse. 😃

This building is so old but still great to do a lot with it. And it is biiig! A lot to put in.

Has someone really great flame thrower that is not just texture?

For a realistic bombastic stage performance like Nightwish or Rammstein have I would like to have nice looking flames that can be shown from all sides. The problem with texture flames is that they look only good from far and front.

When on stage then it should also look realistic when performing from all sides

7:20, my sunday morning wake up call, literally.
A person, somewhere in the neighbourhood, inside? outside? i don't know, shouting:
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, auwwww, artthghghgh,.....................help! help me! come help me! ......................help aaaaaaaaaaaarhhggg' ending with some gurgling. Then: silence.
Then: someone crying. And silence again.

I haven't got a clue from which side the voice came from (because of being almost deaf in one ear, it's difficult to locate noises).

Then i saw two people jogging, but they acted as if nothing was going on there.
And now... nothing. Only me here, wondering what where and how.
Did someone just die? Or a drunk person making a fuss about nothing, or or or?

First try without help of mixer. Concert with Succubus on stage.

But I think I need more helping hands to get effects in real time. Just for light show and switching on NPCs and such.

Alone it is impossible to do this in real time live at concert.

But still need a rigged electric guitar. How can I rig a guitar by myself? Would really help because I don't want to use NPCs anymore and all people should be animesh. Also the band members on stage.

Joy and me just made a ride with my 11th car on the sim. A Mustang Cabrio just made it ready for route drive and our flexi hair flatter in the wind. lol

now you can also take a ride around the 7x7 sim for more than half an hour in the cybertruck.

It will stop at landing point too. But you will have to wait probably long time there. Usually you should take the stretch limo with security cars. They arrive at landing point more often.

I thought I need always draw 1024 for my videos, because it is loading then faster and for driving with fast cars it is necessary to see far and to load much in cache.

But now I tried out DD at 100 for fashion week and concert. I have much higher framerate and all is smooth running.

When I make new videos especially then also for the Broadway Musical theater and Penthouse I will also make new videos in much better quality for the fashion show and Plaza and Concert in central park.

It is total difference with DD at 100 and not 1024 (dd 4096)

I guess now will follow a masterpiece. I put the broadway to Park Avenue and build a Musical theatre with big hall in this building. And also the penthouse in upper floor.

Jimmy is already removing the ceiling and builds big stairs from both sides in first floor.

It will be fantastic.

And then you can watch Rocky Horror picture show and greatest showman and such musicals. Like on old broadway. Just now in Park Avenue lol
