I wrote a post about racism the other day, and after reading it, one of my friends genuinely asked yesterday -- but how often do you face it?

I took a few minutes, and then I informed him about what I had seen;

While doing a job search, if you are an Indian, you will be asked to do both coding tasks and code with screen share for jobs even though you are serving in the same role and have excellent experience proving your qualification. On the other hand, if someone is white, they don't have to do this in most cases.

I have specifically reached out and enquired to people and found out there. And this has happened to me and others for even managerial and senior managerial positions. I never noticed these things until I was in India, but they are so apparent here that they can not go unnoticed.

The best part of this whole thing is -- many times, the people in hiring adding these additional steps on a profile basis are of the exact origin and the same colour or black. It's funny, but I wonder how deep these thoughts are planted.

But at the same time, from what I know, it is better than in the past and will improve. That is what we all have to do, no?

Racism is everywhere -- wherever I have lived till now, I have observed it around -- and I have been facing discrimination since school due to my language, dialect, colour, caste, state, food etc.

But I have never let it decide my success or failure, and I would never do till I have my sane mind with me.

Either this never-ending discrimination has made me mentally solid or ignorant -- but every time it happens, I catch it categorically.
