Huh. Are the PBLs on Northern Blvd/Broadway any good? Normally I'd take #QueensBlvdPBL/Skillman to get to #LIC, but just noticed that google maps suggests a slightly longer (by .1mi) but less hilly route. I know portions of broadway are still shitty (but then again so are portions of queens blvd).

How people use the 34th Ave Open Street (future Paseo Park) in Queens, NY, at 9:30pm on a summer night. It's officially open to cars at 8pm, but there is now a hegemony of pedestrians and cyclists. Drivers can just tell that they need to chill out. This is a successful street.

I complain a lot about New York City but today I biked down the (100% clear) bike lane on Northern Blvd, over the Queensboro (it was ok), downtown with hundreds of other cyclists. Got my brakes fixed, ran errands, enjoyed the remnants of Pride. Rode the Brooklyn bridge, Prospect Park, Coney Island, Riis Park. Went to the nude beach, saw an endangered plover. Rode home via Forest Park, where I stopped in the dusk for some mothing — saw a plume moth!

I'm back in NYC and have a #bikenyc / Citi Bike question ... I'm looking to buy an annual pass, and the Citi Bike + Lyft Pink All Access pass is now cheaper than the Citi Bike annual pass by itself. But does the All Access pass include the $3 cap on ebike rides in Manhattan?

Yesterday I made the mistake of avoiding the rain by taking the #NYCSubway instead of #bikeNYC. With my bike, because I needed work done at a shop far from home.

Going was ok. But the trip home, I entered a station that looked fine. Found I had to get to my F line by going down extra stairs, down a crowded platform, and up. Once up, I was on the R platform going the wrong way. There was no indication how to get to the other platform. Back down. Saw my F was not stopping at that station. 1/2
