@ascentale @inliuofjoan A5: It’s not my jam (yet) but we have a strong community of accessible & adaptive cycling here. I regularly pass recumbents, trike, e-bike of all kinds, hand bikes, etc on the trails & in town. It’s one of the reasons I moved here — knowing that I’d almost certainly be able to #BikeCommute my whole life. If I need an electric recumbent hand trike later, that’s possible! I can get one & it will function on the trail network! #BikeNite

Ok so that’s why it wasn’t sealing. Half a washer had cut through the tyre and was still lodged in it.

I managed to get an inner tube in but couldn’t get the tire true on the wheel. I’ve admitted defeat and will book it in for a fresh set of tubeless tyres. 🥲 #bikecommute #cycling

Biked to the office today! First time on the roads for a while and it was tbh not the best. Cars, big trucks, construction, roads blocked off for events, bike lanes blocked with dumpsters, ooof. Bicycle commute: do other folks have a favorite traffic control? I have a few favorite traffic lights on my regular route that always turn green as I approach well before the induction loops. I don't even need to slow down (though my fingers are on the brake levers just in case.) I feel like a VIP ushered through the intersection. #bikeCommute #cycling

my bike broke on Tuesday, (rear hub failed) so have been back commuting by car & OMG, the quality of #perthdrivers is appalling. No doubt it was always this bad but after a year cycling instead it really hits home how bad it is. #cycling #bikecommute #perth

First time I noticed that Strava now shows "Carbon saved" on rides you mark as commutes, presumably compared to a car journey. Must be new. #BikeCommute

Bike commute: it's not all fresh donuts and bread in the early morning. I also get to ride through the miasma laid down by trash trucks. This morning I was dismayed by a trash hauler doing its business on a narrow road. No way to avoid it so I kept pedaling. The truck tipped a dumpster/skip with a big cloud of dust right as I came up on it. It smelled like Christmas. Turns out that bakery trash includes a lot of flour and spices. #bikeCommute #cycling

Bike commute: Riding in the early morning dark adds a little frisson at times. Example: warm temps (61F/16C) so I leave my windbreaker half zipped. At a short downhill, something starts flapping violently in my ear. I freak out before I realize it's just the loose collar of my windbreaker. The shot of adrenaline adds some pep to my pedals. #bikeCommute #cycling
