I endorse lights by Light & Motion:

1- I've own three Vis 180 tail lights for 5-10 years and they still work great!

2- I broke off a rubber port cover, and can still buy replacements!

I originally bought them because lights that blink-off are a bad idea. At night in a dark area, you become invisible for a moment. Instead, this light can "warble" from dim to bright to dim; it is never off!

I was in a G+ circle with thousands of worldwide members. I want to rekindle that sense of community with whimsical fun and inspiration to keep biking to work.

It was fun and silly. It was always positive/encouraging, rarely negative. It was eye opening, seeing how others commute (snow!)

I'd like to revive a game from #BikeCommuterCabal (more on this later)

The game was called "What's in the box?" To play, post a picture of a shipped purchase (feel free to obscure for privacy) and ask people to guess #WhatsInTheBox. Serious answers are fine, but silly answers are better!

Personally I lean more towards layers involving wool. It's all about staying warm rather than attempting to stay dry while sweating in a rainstorm.

On this day. 2016. I remember this ride. Morning #bikecommute. Photo data says this is around 6:30 am. This is outside a local brewery and tap house. It was interesting being there when no one else was and it was so quiet. I enjoy early morning and night rides because we get so used to seeing everything in daylight. There’s so much more than that.

Thanks to smartphones we now all take far more photos than necessary. Over the years on the #bikecommute I've taken thousands. I had stints where I tried to take 'self portraits' using tripods, radio triggers or simply setting the camera on a post with a timer. I like to go back 'on this day' and see if I commuted and took a photo. Here's one from 11/9/2009. I'd found a frame someone trashed in the woods. Weird. I had long hair then.

Cool watching all the #cycling peeps show up on #mastodon. There’s a lot of folks on the #bikecommute out there. When COVID landed I started working from home and that ended my commutes for the most part after a good 20 years or so. This was my first commute in New Brunswick, in 2007. Fatbikes hadn’t really materialized yet. I rode an old Specialized Rockhopper I’d saved from a dumpster and converted to a fixed-gear. Good times in the Maritimes.
