Hey #BikeDC, does anyone know if City Bikes in Adams Morgan has re-opened?

Heading home. So proud of us. At 4:30 pm—1h before event start—our tool hauler called: no power @ the storage space, can’t get tools, bike, & trailer. She drove to 2 board members’ houses to borrow tools & we got the word out to our leader corps to bring whatever they had. And we did it! We got 20 #volunteers w < 24h notice. Can’t wait to share the before/after pics w y’all.

This corridor has been low hanging fruit for awhile (70’ wide for 11k cars a day!) but credit DDOT for including PBLs when they’re not in long-range plans, AND parallel corridor like 300’ away (9th) just got PBLs for same extent. https://arcg.is/1Hm8TK

Finally rode the Met Branch Trail extension, which I worked on back in 2014.

Pleased that the access gate to the concrete pit made it to final, because the workers wanted to be able to access the trail.

So if you ever doubt the widespread demand for access to great active transportation facilities… remind yourself that the concrete pit workers wanted and got an access point off of the Mer Branch Trail.
