In Edmonton, they've been very proactive, getting local cops & pawnshops to coordinate & check BI to see if a found or offered bike has been reported stolen. It's working! A majority of bikes stolen stay lost, but some (more than before) are returned:

This might be the most legendary bike lock I've seen. I'd like to see it covered by the LockPickingLawyer. If my Kryptonite New York Cinch "Noose" Chain lock ever breaks beyond repair, this is definitely what I'm going for next!
