@marcprecipice @lucas every time I do a review on Google maps --retail or restaurant-- I comment on the quality of the service/meal, AND the #BikeParking. And I delight in wearing my bike helmet while grocery shopping.

Today I brought home a patio plant stand on the back of my omafiets. It was fun watching the surprised faces of people in cars.

Finally dusted my #bike off yesterday and went for a long ride up to the sprawl north of #cville . As usual I found it safest to ride on the sidewalks in the County. I found the new Starbucks at the north end of the safe median path on 29/Emmet (the south end is Bodos) to be a pleasant outpost going to and from more dangerous areas, including a single space for #bikeparking

I guess I'm doing something right if I'm receiving direct emails from a secure bike locker companies.

Wish money, embedded SF car culture and SF bureaucracy weren't the biggest issues.

@daihard maybe some #bikeParking / #BikeTheft policy wonks or #BikeTooter can cite studies, but just offhand: #BikeValet, staples/corrals with better lighting/visibility (& follow-up review theft report locations for changes), make it easy to get a #BikeHangar in a curb space (or lockers, pods, etc), register at point of sale / make sure people know their serial number, maintain decent infrastructure so more people bike, build housing (a lot of it), and give people bikes, locks, and money #UBI.

I love living on a cycle route. A challenge that I have is planning where to lock my bike safely each time I head out. Being a Gen-X, this situation reminds me of the scene by PeeWee Herman. I currently use two bike locks.

I never think about this when I plan to drive... where to safely park my car.

I loved Victoria Canada's consierge bike lockers. What other best practices are out there?
