Easy solution. Change your location on all online accounts to any country other than Canada π .
I started doing that since #BillC11 passed
#BillC11 is aimed at ensuring increasingly popular and profitable social media platforms and streaming services are subjected to Canadian content requirements and regulations comparable to traditional broadcasters.

The Bill C-11 & Bill C-18 news in Canada is a study in utter stupidity & unintended consequences.
Canadians will lose their access & exposure to legitimate news & their ability to express themselves.
When this first came out I thought for sure it was a silly farce by old politicians who don't understand the internet. But apparently noone has managed to educate them & now we are a laughing stock soon to have platforms banning links to real news while conspiracies flourish. π€¦ββοΈπ‘
Our MPs will very soon hold a FINAL VOTE on Bill C-11 β new legislation that could give the CRTC sweeping new powers to regulate and manipulate YOUR videos, search results, podcasts, and Netflix recommendations. #BillC11

Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez says he hopes the House of Commons will pass the bill next week after it reviews the Senate's changes.
Senators made amendments intended to protect user-generated content and highlight the promotion of Indigenous languages and Black content creators.

What are your thoughts on Bill C-11?

If we get tired of seeing content we won't want to see, we input "not interested" or thumbs down those vids, and our fellow Canadians with YouTube channels suffer.
Our own government would be forcing Canadian content creators to be a barrier from content outside Canada itself and screwing over the very people they're trying to promote.
#BillC11 could soon pass with HUGE new powers for the CRTC to regulate our posts and feeds.
Speak up and demand amendments to respect our content and choices! #FixC11

Bill C-11 is the equivalent of taxing car manufacturers in the 1920s to subsidize horseshoe makers.
This is nothing but a money grab on behalf of traditional analogue broadcasters (and cultural unions) to make up for the fact that they missed the digital revolution.
@freezenet You have certainly been thorough! And indefatigable. Gavel to gavel coverage. Yes, our final scheduled witnesses - Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez and his senior staff, appear Tuesday morning. Wednesday, we start clause-by-clause, in extended sittings. #BillC11 #TRCM #SenCa
