Elon Musk being autistic doesn't excuse his actions at all, of course. In fact, his actions are pretty consistently anti-autistic as all fuck. One of the most obvious examples is Neuralink, but it goes way, way beyond that.

At the same time, it's glaringly clear how neurotypicals lack almost any other way to think about him. Personally, I have yet to hear a single criticism of Musk from a neurotypical that isn't at least partially based on anti-autistic tropes. They also often take traits of his associated with being rich and privileged his whole life, like expecting other people to do everything for him or having no compassion for people with less privilege, and make it about being autistic. It's also notable that they don't give the same intensity of criticism to neurotypical billionaires who do similar things, like Jeff Bezos.

And, yes, I know it's possible that he's making it up. I personally don't think it's the most likely possibility, and I really don't think we should be taking that line anyway. It leads to exclusion of self-dx, and to us not claiming our assholes.
