Quick #BillRichardson story:

When we lived in New Mexico mid 2000's, my in-laws went to sightsee at the NM State Capitol. They managed to wander into the Governor's office, when, who should they meet but Gov Richardson.

He could have easily given a handshake and a few quick words to some out-of-state tourists, then shown them the door.

Instead, he spent the next hour giving them a personal tour of the Capitol building, regaling them with stories from state history.

That's just the kind of generous guy he was - loved people, loved government, loved New Mexico. Incredible man.
