I'm currently using #BIND as my authoritative and recursive #DNS, on 2 #freebsd servers. I manage a handful of zones.
Is there a better alternative, especially for simplicity of administration of #DNSSEC ?
I see some are going with #PowerDNS + #unbound (then why not powerdns-recursor?)
What about #NSD ? #Knot ?

@mauri5hut that very likely happened on fritz.box name, because it is not existing domain name with crypto proof it doesn't exist. Use negative trust anchor for such domain and keep others #dnssec validated. Using unregistered domain is a fail of #fritzbox vendor, not #bind's

Nach dem Autoupdate meiner #fritzbox auf Version 7.56 letzte Nacht, hatte #bind keine Lust mehr auf Namensauflösung zur FritzBox (DNS format error … unrelated SOA …). Scheinbar gibt es da Probleme mit #DNSSEC. Mit „dnssec-validation no“ in der named.conf.options geht es erstmal wieder. Mal schauen was da passiert ist…

Ahh, I finally got to merge something that's been on my to-do list for years: "delv +ns" does what "dig +trace" was supposed to, but was never much good at.

(Specifically, it performs a full recursive #DNS query from the root, including #DNSSEC validation, using the same code that named does, and displays the whole process, message by message. It'll be in #BIND 9.19.12.)
