I'm late to the party but goddamn the #Binti trilogy is amazing. Just got the collected trilogy at Pilsen Community Books in Chicago.

Enjoyed and recommend #Binti and have the rest of the series waiting on me.

Stress from the job search has me re-listening to comfort stories over and over mostly, with an occasional new comfort story thrown in. One such was A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking by #TKingfisher and I do recommend.

Since my previous post, I've not finished reading any of the physical books and I'm at Death Magic in the #Haven series by #BVLarson.

Finally finished the last book in the fantastical #Binti series by @nnedi The trilogy includes an extra short story about settling in at Oomza Uni. If you ❤️ #scifi I highly recommend it!

Finishing up the #Binti trilogy. I have to admit that I am less than enthusiastic about the first book. The narrator’s voice and plotting get 🔥🔥🔥 by the third. I understand what Nnedi Okorafor may have been doing is showing Binti’s coming of age through that voice. It just didn’t resonate with me; it felt like 1st season Trek or bad Harry Potter-inspired YA. I felt that
Alexei Panshin set the standard for that in Rite of Passage in SF, and Joyce for literature in Portrait of the Artist. /1

@nnedi Greg Ruth's work is great. But I have to admit I am partial to Joey Hi-fi's cover art work for the Spanish edition of the #Binti trilogy for Crononauta.
