Yesterday in Bolivia, strong north winds (part of a phenomenon referred as low level jet) triggered blowouts from dry river beds (sandbars are usually exposed at the end of the winter because minimal melting upstream) and fan fires creating long plumes.

Fires in S. America generate thick smoke & it is trapped against the Andes mountains.

If it was August-Sep, winds would displace smoke southbound creating the so-called river of smoke. However, forecast indicates that smoke will not move much & should keep piling up against mountains.

Proof of concept testing the rocket stove and oven. Not trying to cook anything, just testing it all works. Bit windy out so the flames are getting blown out and it isn't packed so it won't reach baking temperature but so far, so good. We may need to use a mix of unseasoned weeds and seasoned wood, or it might do well enough out of the wind for bramble
