One of the things I like here on Mastodon - my attention is regularly drawn to the small things. Beetles, moss and lichen, fossils, shells and stones, microphotography, roots, insects, fungi, weather... At first it seemed a bit odd to me, but in the meantime it changed my way of walking and watching the natural world around me a lot. I never was a science expert, so - thanks to everyone contributing to the "small worlds"!
