When I joined the #birdapp, I remember talking to local comedians (who at this time all lived and breathed in Facebook) about what it was and they all talked to it like twitter users talk about Mastodon now. "What do you mean theres a character limit?" & "Cant I just add my friends and they get friend requests?" were deal-breakers. I remember saying "it just works differently, it's a different thing but it's not rocket science" and now deja vu all over again. #BirdAppImmigrant #mastodonsplaining
