Riverside Wren (Cantorchilus semibadius)
A regional endemic of Costa Rica and Panama.
I reworked the plate of this species to reflect the newer pose changes. The individual birds for these plates are extracted from the original paintings. Working in digital painting makes such a task fairly straightforward.

I swear I'm going to run out of these bird images eventually... I like to do my art is series, you know? But when the series is done I move on to the next shiny subjects that catch my eye. So there will come an end to these. Soon.

This bird is a Common Linnet. But honestly, I just look at how the light colors their plumage. That's what catches my eye!

Here's yet another of the bird images I made for a set of greeting cards (found for sale here: a.co/d/hUHXIhs )

I was looking for a bird that had more purple in it than I could find in reference imagery, so I kinda stretched the "accuracy" of this image a bit.

I have no idea what kind it ended up being! LOL! Perhaps I'll call it a Purple Breasted Wannabe Chickadee?

Ok, one last post and then I gotta get outta here--this image was the second in a series of greeting cards. I loved it so much I made bookmarks of it! I think it's a finch, maybe? I can't remember!! LOL! This one was a major leap forward for me, and I had to adjust/develop some brushed in Procreate to do it. Learned a LOT!

I do love drawing birds!

I never shared the last bird images I drew! This one was the start of my "Bird 2.0" experiments, but they turned out so nice enough to put on a set of greeting cards.

Here's the first image I made in the series: a lovely female Northern Cardinal.

Apparently, this species of cardinal is only found in North & Central America with additional populations in Hawaii and Bermuda.

Another bird phone wallpaper! This time, the one that started it all--a cardinal.

I found this image on Unsplash wanted to replicate the light. This is a very condensed version of the image but I'm happy with it regardless! It launched me on the journey of doing bird images, which gave me the bravery to try my own stylizations & ultimately the confidence to sell my own projects.

Another bird wallpaper--this time with a mother swan and her cygnet hatchlings. I love this image because I tried to make the water look almost like a sky with stars and such.

For a long time, I felt this was the best bird image I'd done, but there were a couple more in my future that I was going to feel good about, too!

Ok, here's another bird wallpaper. I actually know what type of bird this is!! It's a Rose Finch, and I fell in love with it because of the coral pink coloration that I'd never seen before on a bird. It just stunned me! I had to draw one! Go look them up--their color is magical!

Okay, time for another bird wallpaper.

I watched @welshpixie 's bird stream for a while and I have to give it a thumbs up. Seriously, I just put it on in the background and listened to all the birds. At the moment I watched it there were dozens. DOZENS. Lovely songs!
