I hadn’t believed how #nazi the platform had become til i went back. Systemic #oligarchic #fossilfuel #whitesupremacy. I was BOMBARDED by #advertising on #environmentalist #chrispackham & how he was supposedly a “them”, amassing millions against the “us” small people. Site leads to fake BBC article, all linked to… #crypto products. #Musk #disinformation

@Trumanlab I wish you got the engagement on this post you had on the #birdsite. I agree this is a necessary skill, particularly to succeed and survive professionally in a capitalist world with a "project" mindset. I came of professional age when tenured scientists did not have to rush to be closers, could develop their lines of investigation as long as they judged necessary, & were spared much of the administrative crap that has clogged all creative conduits since. I still struggle to close.

Over the #birdsite - I’m looking forward to NEW adventures‼️ 💚 One has not experienced the full meaning of raison d'etre unless having been banned from a few pubs, venues, etc. It kinda goes with the broadcast #journalists / researcher territory. Of all the lists various weirdos on Twitter (er, excuse me, "X" 🙄 ) have added me onto over the years on Twitter this might actually be the most boutique. "Personality disorder"? Dude, I don't have any personality disorder; I'm just normal.

Needless to say it's supposed to be some kind of insult, and the adder has been blocked effective immediately.

For several reasons (don’t @ me) I still have accounts on those other sites (winding down) and it’s continuously baffling to me that people I consider politically and academically smart continue to complain about #enshittification (of the #birxsite, of Google, of Chrome) but can’t be arsed to use the alternatives that are already in place. What is this phenomenon? Even those fleeing the #birdsite go to #bluesky - and talk about how it will very probably go down the same route. But #Mastodon is „unusable“, say the super communist critics of tech on the central website of the very industry they complain about

Glanced over at the disaster that is the #birdsite yesterday, and "Hittler" was trending... until it looks like they manually suppressed it. Some "blue check" ostensibly with that last name (two t's) had taken over all the attention, at least when I looked over there, and then suddenly all those posts got deranked. This was while they had some right winger on "Spaces" arguing against helping Ukraine fight off Russia.

#Greenblatt called #Musk’s threat of a #lawsuit “#frivolous” & said Musk’s behavior was #reckless & #dangerous, coming 2 weeks ahead of the #Jewish High Holidays.
