Amazing how motivated I am to write and code now that I have a place to share my work where I won't be buried by an algorithm built specifically to favor the already-successful or to whip up drama to its maximum extent. The combined feeling on bigger platforms of utter invisibility paired with the constant threat of harassment if you do gain any traction was exhausting.

Here, I just wanna make things and show them off and it's wonderful.

@tobz it must’ve been a blink and you missed it sort of thing 4 years ago (for Twitter users I mean) but for me the whole ridiculous nature of the world’s richest man spending obscene amounts of money, after being forced to honour his offer and the arrogant way he conducts himself has a lot to do with it. (Imagine if he’d bought $44B of trees instead). Also being less of a slave to the algorithms is very appealing.
