We got a visitor this past weekend! I felt so lucky to be able to take these photos of a Kererū (New Zealand wood pigeon) pretty up close. They fly around the house quite often, and they are big! Kākāpōs are such wonderful birds, but sadly critically endangered. They are the only flightless parrots in the world. Island syndrome got to them on Aotearoa, but now they can't even be found on the mainland there.
